What may be driving the move
The fall appears largely coin-specific rather than explained by the wider market. HYPE also spiked and then fell back, but the cause of that swing is unclear.
May have started the movePossible
Bitcoin and most tracked coins also fell over the measured 24 hours, so broad market weakness may have contributed. A report at Nov 2, 16:46 UTC covered a security breach at Brazil’s Mercado Bitcoin exchange, but its link to this move is unproven.
The market comparison says HYPE’s coin-specific move was large, so broad weakness does not account for most of the fall. No timing link to the report is established.
What is still unknown
What triggered the coin-specific selling, and whether derivatives or thin liquidity amplified it, remains unknown.
